Army Ribbons

Hierarchy has the most important and managerial role in any institution in other words it is the backbone of a system and army being the most integral institution of a country is not an exception from it .Each institution has its own rules n principles for the hierarchy as far as army is concerned it has its own unique system of hierarchy and the thing which makes it unique from the other institutions is the changing color of ribbon as the rank changes.

Ribbons are not just the simple ribbons that are used for the purpose of decoration but they had a better and bigger use now a days. They are used to use spread awareness now a days as well. Awareness ribbons due to their ubiquitous nature have come to symbolize various concerns depending upon the color and pattern used. For example, black ribbons may be used for mourning, red for aids and white for peace.

Soldiers wears a wide assortment of insignia ribbons medals and badges, tabs and patches. To the uninitiated, the variety can be bewildering. Yet each represents a soldier’s accomplishment or that of his or her unit and it is a great source of pride and accomplishment. The first ribbon that was represented in a meaningful object in the history was the yellow ribbon that was mentioned in a marching song, which was sung by the military in the United States.

In the year 1917 George A. Norton copyrighted the song for the first time and in 1940 it was rewritten by several musicians .In army each rank and designation has its own different color of ribbon or a combination of different colors that is often used to differentiate between different ranks, units, regiments and divisions.

These ribbons are also known as army decorations as well. These ribbons also act as a motivating factor among the soldiers and help to enhance the sportsmanship between the regiments. In army, there is a vast range and variety of ribbons and medals so it is very hard to tell about all the detail, pros, and cons of the list.

The job of army is quiet hectic, difficult and boring so this color effect that they had given is a reasonable try to fill some colorful and informal effect to an extent that is refreshing as well .So army ribbons have at one end represent the rank and designation of a soldier and at the other end it also depicts how much they put efforts to make the life of the people of the country. Therefore, each color has its own identity and story of courage and hard work behind it.
